We have good news and bad news. I'll let you know the good news first. I guess there are several things. We found out on July 3rd that we received our final ruling!!!!! This means that the adoption is complete and Ty is legally our son. Now the bad news. We were fingerprinted by Immigration quite a while ago and our fingerprints expire on July 7. Who knew fingerprints expire. Well, in retrospect we should have renewed our fingerprints quite a while ago but we never expected that the process would take so long and that renewing would be necessary. We cannot travel to get Ty until we have new fingerprints taken and of course, it is never as easy as you would think. We had to send in a paper requesting fingerprints and then they have to process our money (more money) and send us a day for fingerprinting in the mail. All of this takes time. We were told that we could contact our congressman/senator and ask them for help with expediting our fingerprinting appointments but so far haven't had any luck. This is what we are working on now. The orphanage provided us with a July 18 travel date but we had to cancel it because we don't have our fingerprints. Really depressing. It seems like practically everything that could go wrong has gone wrong but there's no use in complaining we'll just have to get busy. It is happy to know that we will be on our way to Ty soon.
