Just so you know what I have been doing let me describe the process getting the papers finished up to send back to Taiwan. This part of the paperwork is called the dossier (doss-e-a) and it includes several things; power of attorney papers for lawyers to go to court on our behalf in Taiwan, a contract with the orphanage, paying thousands of dollars (as to how much we'll keep that quiet), homestudy (which in a nutshell is a write up by a social worker of every detail of our life)and 15 or so pictures of the outside and inside of our home. We sign all these papers, get them notarized, take them to the secretary of state for them to appostille them (some gold sticker), and send that to Chicago TECRO office for authentication of all the former signatures. Yikes!! Good new though-it is all done. This is where the countdown comes into play. They estimate six months from returning the paperwork until travel date so we'll track our progress.
